Waiting to get access to start setting up for church.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We went to church with mom and dad Knudsen in Osezweni near Madedeni, the smallest of their three branches.\u00a0 So small they call it a twig.\u00a0 Erika and I helped setup the small community room that they rent.\u00a0 I helped prepare and pass the sacrament.\u00a0 Erika led the music without accompaniment.\u00a0 She had to sing the first few measures solo to get everyone started.\u00a0 Way to go Erika!<\/p>\n

Probably the closest thing to a church solo she will ever want to do again.\u00a0 We were introduced, asked to share our testimonies and I gave the closing prayer.\u00a0 I had a feeling we were going to get to participate.\u00a0 We had a group of 47 attending.\u00a0 The numbers were down because of the rain.<\/p>\n

Most of them live in large groups in a cinder block, tin roof house with a flushing toilet and a sink.\u00a0 No showers.\u00a0 Despite the poverty and living conditions everyone was well dressed.<\/p>\n

I cannot get over how happy everyone is.\u00a0 Everyone, especially the children, are all smiles.\u00a0 They are so happy and they have so little.\u00a0 They speak between three and seven languages and their English is great.<\/p>\n

They are a very religious people.\u00a0 They go to a lot of different kinds of Christian denominations.\u00a0 There was even a mega-church called the Potter’s House that met under a super-sized tent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
